Frequently asked questions
What do I need for an estimate?
After you draw out the shape of your kitchen, take measurements from wall to wall with the height from floor to ceiling. Indicate if your kitchen has a bulkhead and measure the height of the bulkhead. Bulkheads are made up of drywall and are located between the upper cabinets and the ceiling. They are used to conceal ductwork or are sometimes empty. (If the original plans of the house are not available then the contractor may have to cut a hole in the bulkhead to see what’s concealed behind it.) Take the measurements and location of the doors, windows, beams, columns and openings. You don’t have to be extremely accurate with your measurements, if you are happy with the estimate a designer from Design Excellence will come by your place to take the final measurements.
