Frequently asked questions
Mdf Doors Vs Wood Doors
Should I use MDF or Wood Doors for my kitchen cabinets? This is one of the most frequently asked questions and the answer depends on the type of finish you are trying to achieve, painted or stained.
MDF Doors - MDF or Medium Density Fiberboard is an engineered wood product that is far denser, stronger and heavier than particleboard. While a distant cousin to particleboard it is designed for a very different purpose with a much higher quality. Itís very durable and its smoother surface accepts paint (Solid Stain) very well giving the door a smother and finer finish. A large stigma attached to MDF doors is the perception that MDF is cheap or a lesser quality, which is not the case. MDF doors are available in a five-piece or a one-piece door. A five-piece door is made up of rails, stiles and a center panel. A one-piece door has no joints and is made using a CNC Machine (computerized) that routers out the style and pattern of the door.
