Frequently asked questions
Mdf Doors Vs Wood Doors
Wood on the other hand being anatural material moves with the changes in temperature and the moisture content in the air. Its expansion and contraction is far greater than MDF. When wood doors are painted, this natural movement could cause a slight separation at the joints where the rail and stiles meet causing cracks in the paint. Many manufacturers recommend MDF over Wood for painted doors.
Wood Doors – The beauty of transparent stain or glazed cabinets comes from the true natural quality of wood itself. Just as no two trees are alike no two pieces of wood are alike. Some species of wood have a greater variation in colour, with a more pronounced grain than others. There are many different species of wood used to construct kitchen cabinet doors; Oak, Birch, Maple, Cherry and Walnut are some of the more popular choices.
